The distinction that changes what you measure
Most GEO dashboards report both numbers in the same column. They call it “visibility.” That framing costs you clarity.
When ChatGPT writes “HubSpot is a popular CRM platform,” that is a mention. Your brand appears. No source is credited. No referral session is generated. No one reading that answer can trace it back to a page on your site.

A few notes on what “partial” means for attribution-pattern matching.
