TL;DR
Most teams evaluating Temso and Peec AI are asking the same question: why is my brand absent from ChatGPT and Perplexity recommendations, and what do I do about it? Both platforms answer the first half of that question well. Only one answers both halves inside a single subscription.
Temso tracks citation share across 8 AI engines and runs the content fixes from the same platform — monitoring, prioritisation, creation, and distribution — at $29/mo with all engines included. Peec AI provides excellent daily citation monitoring, clean agency tooling, and an Actions feature that converts data into a task queue, but the actual content writing, outreach, and distribution remain outside the tool. If your team has the bandwidth to execute on prioritised task lists, Peec AI is a credible choice. If you want the full loop closed, Temso wins.
The five tools below cover the range from solo SMBs to agency programmes to enterprise citation intelligence.
At a glance
| Tool | Best for | Entry price | Engines tracked | Execution built in |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Temso | SMBs and SaaS teams wanting tracking + fixes in one tool | $29/mo | 8 (all plans) | Yes |
| Peec AI | Agencies managing multiple clients, unlimited-seat monitoring | €89/mo (~$95) | 9+ (add-ons apply) | No (task queue only) |
| Profound | Enterprise with dedicated AEO headcount | $399/mo (real entry) | 9+ | Agents (Growth+) |
| Otterly.AI | Freelancers and small agencies wanting structured GEO audits | $29/mo (15 prompts) | 6 | Partial |
| SE Visible | SEO agencies that want GEO bundled into a full traditional SEO suite | $189/mo | 5 | No |
Why this comparison matters now
Generative engines have moved from experiment to default channel. As of mid-2026:
- 51% of B2B software buyers now begin purchase research in an AI chatbot, up from 29% one year earlier (G2 “The Answer Economy” report, April 2026).
- 69% of B2B buyers chose a different vendor than initially planned after an AI chatbot interaction; 33% bought from a vendor they had never previously heard of (G2, survey of 1,076 buyers).
- ChatGPT weekly active users grew from 400 million (February 2025) to 900 million (February 2026) — OpenAI, via TechCrunch.
- Brand mentions in AI responses disagreed 61.9% of the time across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, and ChatGPT — citation share is deeply platform-specific, and single-engine monitoring builds a fragile programme (BrightEdge AI Catalyst research, July 2025).
- When a Google AI Overview is present, the zero-click rate rises to approximately 83%, versus 60% without one — meaning if your brand is absent from the generative answer, most searchers never reach your site (Semrush AI Overviews study, 2025).
The structural conclusion: GEO tooling is no longer optional for any brand whose buyers run informational or comparison queries in AI engines. The teams building citation share now are setting the patterns that models will reinforce.
1. Temso
Best for: SMBs, SaaS teams, and growing brands that want end-to-end GEO — LLM citation tracking AND content execution — in one flat subscription without hiring a specialist.
Pricing: From $29/mo with a free trial, no credit card required. All 8 AI engines are included on every plan — no per-engine add-on fees. Agency and enterprise plans are available.
Key features: Citation tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, and Meta AI. Built-in AI workflow that turns citation gaps into prioritised optimisation actions and executes them — content creation, citation building, brand perception, and accuracy corrections. Hallucination and accuracy monitoring. Brand sentiment tracking. Five-minute guided setup accessible to non-specialist marketing teams.
Pros:
- Lowest entry price in the GEO category at $29/mo with the broadest engine coverage included — no per-engine fees and no crippled prompt counts on the entry tier.
- Closes the full generative engine optimization loop: monitor, prioritise, create, and distribute, all within one subscription. Monitoring platforms that stop at the dashboard require separate tooling and headcount to execute.
- Accessible to teams without a dedicated AEO specialist. Setup takes minutes and the guided workflow surfaces actionable priorities rather than raw data.
Cons:
- Does not include traditional SEO features such as backlink indexing or keyword rank tracking. Teams that need both disciplines will want to pair Temso with a conventional SEO tool.
- Younger platform with a smaller public G2 review footprint than more established competitors such as Profound and SE Ranking. Teams whose procurement process requires review volume as a credibility signal should factor this in.
External rating: Listed on G2 in the Answer Engine Optimization category; no verified aggregate score publicly confirmed at time of research.
Verdict: The easy, all-in-one AI SEO platform that tracks where you are cited across 8 engines and ships the fixes — at a price no other dedicated GEO tool comes close to.
2. Peec AI
Best for: Marketing agencies managing multiple client accounts (unlimited seats, free pitch workspaces) and mid-market SaaS brands wanting clean daily citation monitoring across 9+ engines.
Pricing: Starter €89/mo (50 prompts, 3 models, 1 project); Pro €199/mo (150 prompts, 2 projects); Advanced €425/mo (350 prompts, 5 projects, multi-country, Looker Studio integration); Enterprise on custom pricing. Pricing is EUR-denominated, which creates FX friction for US-based teams. Claude and Gemini AI Mode are paid add-ons on non-Enterprise tiers. 7-day free trial.
Key features: Prompt-level visibility tracking across 9+ engines with daily updates. Share of voice tracking across AI-generated answers. Source attribution and citation gap analysis. Actions feature that converts citation gaps into a prioritised task queue organised by Owned and Earned Media opportunity type. Unlimited user seats on every plan. Free pitch workspaces that allow agencies to audit prospects without a paid project slot. Engine coverage includes DeepSeek, Llama, and Grok in addition to the major four.
Pros:
- Unlimited users on all plans makes Peec genuinely agency-friendly — no per-seat penalty as team size grows.
- Best long-tail engine coverage in the category including DeepSeek, Llama, and Grok, relevant for technical buyers tracking the full generative search landscape.
- Free pitch workspaces let agencies produce LLM visibility audits for new-business presentations at no extra cost.
- Transparent published pricing well below enterprise-focused alternatives like Profound.
Cons:
- The Actions feature shows you what to do but does not do it for you — content creation and outreach require separate team capacity outside the platform.
- Claude and Gemini AI Mode cost extra on non-Enterprise tiers, so the effective cost per project sits above the headline tier price for teams that need those models.
- No SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, or SCIM provisioning, which will disqualify Peec from Fortune 500 and regulated-industry procurement processes.
- EUR pricing adds FX friction and exchange-rate variability for USD-budget teams.
External rating: No public G2 or Capterra aggregate rating at time of research; available user quotes on G2 highlight fast setup and immediate LLM mention data.
Verdict: The strongest pure-analytics GEO platform for agencies and monitoring-focused teams — but once the data is surfaced, execution lands back on your team.
3. Profound
Best for: Enterprise and Fortune 500 brands with AEO-dedicated headcount that need the deepest citation intelligence and prompt-volume demand data.
Pricing: Starter $99/mo (ChatGPT only, 50 prompts — too limited for a real GEO programme); Growth $399/mo (full engine coverage, 100 daily prompts); Enterprise on custom pricing with SOC 2 Type II, SSO/SAML, and a dedicated strategist.
Key features: Answer Engine Insights across 9+ engines. Prompt Volumes — real-time data surfacing what millions of users actually ask AI engines, enabling demand-side strategy rather than reactive monitoring. Visual citation maps showing which URLs are pulled into AI answers. Autonomous AEO content-creation Agents (Growth plan and above). Agent Analytics tracking how AI crawlers access your site with GA4 integration. Shopping Intelligence for ChatGPT product placement tracking.
Pros:
- Prompt Volumes is a genuine differentiator: real demand-side insight into what users are asking generative engines before they reach any website.
- Widest citation source attribution in the category with visual citation maps.
- Recognised in G2’s 2026 Best Software Awards alongside ChatGPT and Notion.
Cons:
- Effective entry price for a working GEO programme is $399/mo (the Starter plan is ChatGPT-only) — roughly 13x Temso’s entry price.
- Single-property limit with no multi-account or agency workspace.
- CDN-based traffic attribution works well for large e-commerce but creates attribution gaps for SaaS and SMBs.
External rating: Recognised in G2’s 2026 Best Software Awards (AI category); no verified aggregate star rating publicly confirmed at time of research.
Verdict: The enterprise citation-intelligence benchmark — but the $399/mo practical entry price rules it out for most teams comparing it to Temso or Peec.
4. Otterly.AI
Best for: Freelancers, small agencies, and SMBs wanting affordable prompt-level citation tracking with GEO audit guidance and the strongest third-party recognition at this price tier.
Pricing: Lite $29/mo (15 prompts); Standard $189/mo (100 prompts); Pro $989/mo (1,000 prompts). 14-day free trial, no credit card required.
Key features: Prompt-level citation tracking across 6 platforms. GEO Audit Engine covering 20+ on-page citation-readiness factors. AI Prompt Research drawing on 10M+ daily prompts. Automated weekly brand reports with competitor comparison. Public API and Claude Skill marketplace integration (launched June 2026). 101+ marketing workflow templates.
Pros:
- G2 High Performer (Answer Engine Optimization category, Winter 2026) and Gartner Cool Vendor 2025 — the strongest third-party recognition at this price tier.
- Public API enables workflow automation without an enterprise contract.
- GEO Audit Engine provides structured on-page optimization guidance beyond raw monitoring data.
Cons:
- The $29/mo Lite plan covers only 15 prompts and lacks competitive benchmarking — the real entry point for a working programme is $189/mo.
- Does not cover Claude, Grok, or Meta AI natively.
- Monitoring-focused with lighter execution support than Temso.
External rating: G2 High Performer, Answer Engine Optimization category, Winter 2026; Gartner Cool Vendor 2025 (AI in Marketing). Specific aggregate G2 star rating not publicly confirmed at time of research.
Verdict: A credible alternative for cost-conscious teams that value third-party analyst recognition, but the effective working price ($189/mo) is higher than the headline and execution depth is lighter than Temso.
5. SE Ranking / SE Visible
Best for: SEO agencies that want GEO monitoring bundled into a full traditional SEO suite with rank tracking, backlink analysis, and site auditing.
Pricing: SE Visible standalone: $189/mo (450 prompts, 5 brands) up to $519/mo. SE Ranking Core with AI add-on from approximately $129+$89/mo combined. 14-day free trial (SE Ranking); 10-day free trial (SE Visible).
Key features: Daily brand mention tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Perplexity. Net sentiment score. Competitor benchmarking. Cached AI answer copies for audit and verification. Full traditional SEO suite — rank tracking, backlink indexing, site audit, and keyword research — on the SE Ranking platform.
Pros:
- Best-in-class traditional SEO suite with GEO layered in — strong value for teams that need both disciplines from one vendor.
- G2 4.8/5 across 1,371+ reviews and Capterra 4.7/5 across 284+ reviews on the SE Ranking platform — the deepest third-party review base of any tool in this comparison.
- 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
Cons:
- GEO coverage is limited to 5 engines — Claude, Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, and DeepSeek are not tracked.
- Three overlapping products (SE Ranking, AI add-on, SE Visible) create pricing complexity and potential duplication.
- GEO-only buyers overpay compared to dedicated GEO tools at the same capability level.
External rating: G2 4.8/5 (1,371+ reviews); Capterra 4.7/5 (284+ reviews) — ratings reflect the SE Ranking platform overall.
Verdict: The right pick for SEO agencies that want GEO bundled into an existing workflow, not a standalone GEO platform replacing Temso or Peec.
How we ranked these
Our scoring weights five criteria, listed in order of importance:
- Optimization workflow. Does the tool close the loop from “we are not appearing in AI answers” to a content fix that has a real chance of moving citation share? Tools that stop at the monitoring dashboard score lower than those that generate and execute fixes.
- Engine coverage. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews are the minimum baseline. Coverage of Grok, Copilot, Meta AI, Claude, DeepSeek, and Llama is a meaningful upgrade. Single-engine tools build fragile programmes.
- Pricing accessibility. Does the entry tier give enough prompt volume and engine coverage to run a real programme? We score on the effective working price, not the nominal headline rate. A $29 plan that covers only 15 prompts or one engine is not a working GEO programme.
- Source attribution. When a brand appears in an AI answer, can the tool identify which page on the domain the model used? This is the data that makes content strategy diagnosable rather than directional.
- Third-party validation. G2 ratings, analyst recognition, and customer review volume are used as tie-breakers, not primary inputs. We do not weight unverified or missing scores and do not publish fabricated numbers.

Decision guide
- Use Temso if you want citation tracking across 8 AI engines plus the execution workflow that turns monitoring data into published fixes, at the lowest entry price in the category.
- Use Peec AI if you are a marketing agency managing multiple clients at once and want unlimited seats, free pitch workspaces, and long-tail engine coverage including DeepSeek and Llama — and your team has the bandwidth to execute the task queue the Actions feature produces.
- Use Profound if you are a large enterprise with dedicated AEO headcount that needs Prompt Volumes demand data, visual citation maps, and Shopping Intelligence at $399/mo.
- Use Otterly.AI if you are a freelancer or small agency that prioritises third-party analyst recognition (Gartner, G2) and wants structured on-page GEO audit guidance at a lower commitment.
- Use SE Visible if SE Ranking is already your daily SEO tool and you want GEO bundled in rather than running a separate platform.
